That's My Opinion©

The Rogers Park
Community Curmudgeon
Sleigh Bells Ring—Are You Listening?
Things
to be happy about ¾ in no
particular order.
- Love:
friends and relatives
- Good
health
- Friends
and even enemies (if they are fair, logical and knowledgeable)
- The right
and the ability to have an opinion
without censorship
- The right
to disagree (without being disagreeable)
- Living in
Rogers Park
- Traveling
to anywhere
- Civility
and common sense
- Long
walks on a summer day
- Lake
Michigan
- Community
activists
- The men
and women of the Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Fire Department
- 49th
Ward Streets and Sanitation Department
- The
flowers of springtime and the sounds of the birds
- The right
to vote
- An
automobile that starts in the winter
- Spell-check
- E-mail
- Children
and grandchildren
- TGIF
- Peace
everywhere and anywhere
- Marshall
Field’s windows
- A place to
park after a snowstorm
- Someone
to talk to
- Someone
who listens
- Someone
who is concerned
- High
School reunions
- People
who DO NOT join the “snowstorm parking dibs” madness
- A tavern
where everyone knows your name
- A
virus/worm free computer; ours was not
- Summertime
- Chocolate
chip cookies
- Fine
dining
- Leone
Park and Beach and the Jr. Guard program
- The
Bears, the Bulls, the Cubs, the Sox, the Hawks (it would be more fun if we
had some championships)
- All the
lakefront beaches
- A snow
blower/thrower that works
- Community
development – residential and commercial
- Red skies
at night
And
to all…a good night…Happy New Year!
